Costa Blanca Ladies Open
Barcelona’s Mireia Prat and Patricia Sanz from Madrid, number 1 and 2 of the LET Access Series are currently the main focus of the CostaBlanca Ladies Open, a tournament of professional female character that will be held between the 18th and 20th of November, in the Alicante tour of Font del Llop, club that this season makes a great commitment to golf at the highest level.
Mireia Prat and Patricia Sanz accumulate a substantial advantage in the ranking of the LET Access Series with respect to the third classified -25.613 and 21.613 by the Spanish, 16.547 by the Danish Nicole Broch-Larsen- so both face this tournament with one of the objectives of the season insured: a position among the first five that allows them to obtain the Ladies European Tour card in 2014.
It is the triumph, nevertheless, the other of the great motivations for both players, that in the present season they have filled every one of them in an occasion. Thus, Mireia Prat won the Ocho Golf Ladies Open held in Galicia at the beginning of May, while Patricia Sanz, more recent, won at the end of October the Grecotel Amirandes Ladies Open in Greece.
Another prominent Spanish group is also included in the list of participants, with special mention for Carmen Alonso, third Spanish in the LET Access Series ranking, although, seventeenth, a bit far from the goal of the fifth place, although a position among the twenty best allows you to go directly to the end of the LET grading school.
In addition, projection golfers like Maria Beautell, Judith Chaves, Elisa Serramià, Marian de Miguel, Patricia Lobato, Virginia Espejo, Ana Larrañeta, Belén Buendía and the amateur Natalia Escuriola – third in the last Spanish Championship of Women Professionals recently held in Costa Adeje- complete a list of Spaniards that could be extended when the pending invitations are completed within a few hours of the start of the competition.
The CostaBlanca Ladies Open 2013 is, after the Ocho Golf Ladies Open Galicia, the second professional women’s tournament to be held this season in Spain within the LET Access Series, a satellite circuit created as a bridge to the Ladies European Tour and destined for a good number of golfers of great level both Spanish and European, who need competitions where they acquire the necessary experience to access the tests of the highest level.
The LET Access Series consists of fifteen events this year – two of them in Spain – and the first five classified in its ranking will obtain the card to participate in the European Women’s Tour in 2014.
The CostaBlanca Ladies Open 2013 has a total amount of 25,000 euros. The competition will host 78 players, establishing a cut in the 25th place and tied at the end of the first 36 holes.
